Last day. Florence

Did more running around. Bought some stuff and saw lots more art.  It may be a while before I feel the need to visit another museum.  Had more great food and wine. I an now an expert on gelato. This fountain features water flowing from her breasts. Those Italians!

.  I am writing from the airport in Montreal now, on the way home  :)

Hotels

Why don't US hotels have tile floors instead of icky carpet and thin bedspreads that actually get washed? And how about those bidets?

Wednesday - Archeological Museum

Still in Naples. The door for the hotel is huge but has a hobbit hole when it's closed. The museum has the original art from Pompeii.

Monday

Rented a scooter and covered Capri. Swam, took the chairlift to the top, and had a great lunch. Took the ferry back and enjoyed a delicious dinner with a view of the sea.  :)

Sunday. Pompeii

Saturday

This pic is the view from our room here
We are in Positano, a beautiful but very touristy seaside town. We relaxed, swam,
and walked.

Friday

Visited an organic buffalo farm and saw some of the best preserved Greek ruins in Paestum on the way to Positano. Doug  is on the sacrificial altar.

Thursday

Yesterday, we saw Trulli homes. They are cone shaped. When the top piece was removed, it would collapse and look like a pile of rocks to avoid paying taxes on a house.  Today, we are in Matera, which has been continuously inhabited since  Palaeolithic. Homes were caves with no water, heat etc till after WWII
